Stovalmor is a French private collector who is passionate about Soviet Russian aesthetics. In 2015, he commissioned ELX Art to organise 1,400 of his most prized possessions, the result of a twenty-year project, into a series of catalogues to hold, house and honour his collection.
Challenge: Consolidate a collection of 1,400 Soviet Russian items in a way that is clear, concise, beautiful and of a high quality.
Epiphany: Using an oganisational system which categorised each type of item in such a way as to create harmony out of a powerful collection.
Output: High quality photography and materials, concise and articulate summaries and meticulous record keeping.
Outcome: Five beautiful volumes containing all of the works, with high quality colour photographs, short descriptions and item codes, which render the collection accessible to everyone, whether curious individuals of institutions interested in exhibiting the works.
