William was born in Athens in 1986 and is now based in London. His work derives from an acute observational ability and a profound sense of the absurd. He travels across Europe frequently filling notebooks with details of the everyday.

In 2014 William published Vignettes of Yostov (Jonathan Cape and Random House), a collection of short graphic stories centred around the fictional Eastern European town of Ystov. Having harboured an interest in Eastern Europe for many years, his stories detail the intricacies of the residents’ everyday lives. Another of his works, Like A Wagon, was Highly Commended in the Observer/Comica competition, and his illustrations have featured in a number of publications, including The Drawbridge, Varoom Magazine, Art Review and Anorak.
