I seek ways to transform the materials I work with into something that no longer feels like ordinary matter. I want my work to be luminous, weightless and unbounded.

Paul Friedlander, in Physics World, 2011

Laurent’s goal in creating his artworks is to transmit emotions to his viewer through the movements of his pieces. Indeed, he has noted, 95% of human communication consists of movements rather than words. What Laurent aims to do is recreate this phenomenon using as few mechanical pieces as possible, so that the focus remains on the movement rather than what creates it.

Laurent is especially appreciative of slow movements, because, he believes, the slower the moveent, the more intensely it is felt by the viewer. He has been exhibiting his works since 2012, to great critical acclaim. Laurent lives and works in Paris.
